What is Independent Third Party Plan Review?
At times, rapid development overwhelms building departments. Turnaround times and performance standards begin to slow. As a result, it can cause undue delay to the development community. Public agencies are dedicated to providing a high level of customer service while ensuring the integrity of design and construction. However, their staff can become overloaded, overwhelmed, and unable to keep the development moving forward efficiently. Accordingly, many jurisdictions recognize the importance of the construction schedule. They have implemented independent third-party plan review programs as a solution. With the authorization of the jurisdiction, CODEcheck Consulting contracts directly with the applicant to provide plan review services. Once we have completed our reviews and ensured the plans are compliant with the state and local codes, our team forwards the approved sets to the jurisdiction. The jurisdiction will then issue the building permit.
